FAQs
According to the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 16-303-340 every year WSCIA must do an audit of all certified seed sold. Fees are collected for buckwheat, chickpea, field pea, lentil, soybean, sorghum, and other small grains. Therefore, twice a year WSCIA requires each company that has sold certified seed to report how much of each type of seed was sold during the last fiscal year in order to stay in compliance with the WAC.
Seed certification in Washington State is conducted under the authority of chapter 15.49 RCW. Washington Department of Ag conducts seed certification in cooperation with the Washington State Crop Improvement Association, Inc., Washington State University, and AOSCA.
