The Washington State Crop Improvement Association Foundation Seed Service (FSS) provides seed production and seed increase services for public and private plant breeding programs. Working with universities, commercial seed companies, and independent breeders, FSS produces and distributes high-quality breeder and foundation seed while maintaining genetic identity and varietal purity. Foundation class seed serves as the basis for the production of registered and certified seed, supporting the successful commercialization and continued availability of improved crop varieties.
